STREAM IT
Streaming and posting videos of Temporal Apex is welcome, and you can monetize them. All of the game's music and sound is made for the game, so there's nothing to mute for copyright.
Before you go live: streamer mode
In the game, open Settings and turn Streamer mode ON. It hides your Player ID so viewers can't copy it, and puts a small temporalapex.com tag in the corner so your viewers can find the game. The GO LIVE button next to it opens this page.
Share a replay clip
After a big moment (a planet destroyed, a supernova, a celestial down) a SHARE THIS button pops up. On Android 10 and newer it saves the last few seconds as a video with the TEMPORAL APEX watermark to Movies/Temporal Apex and opens your share sheet for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram or messages. On other devices it shares a screenshot. You can turn clips off in Settings with Replay clips.
Stream from an Android phone or tablet
YouTube
- Your channel needs live streaming turned on. YouTube asks you to verify your channel, and mobile streaming needs a minimum number of subscribers. If you're under it, use the PC method below or a streaming app.
- Open the YouTube app, tap + (Create), then Go live, then choose Share screen or Stream a game.
- Give the stream a title (try "Destroying planets in Temporal Apex"), start it, then switch to Temporal Apex.
Twitch
- Open the Twitch app, tap your profile picture, then Go live or Stream games.
- Set the category to Temporal Apex (or "Games + Demos" until it's listed), allow screen recording, and start.
- Switch to Temporal Apex. The stream keeps going while the game is open.
Tips for phone streams
- Turn on Do Not Disturb so messages don't show on stream.
- Use Wi-Fi and keep the phone plugged in. Set Graphics to MED in Settings if the phone gets hot.
- Hold the phone sideways: the game plays in landscape, which fills a Twitch or YouTube player.
Stream from a PC (Google Play Games on PC + OBS)
- Install Google Play Games on PC from Google, sign in, and install Temporal Apex there.
- Install OBS Studio (free, obsproject.com).
- In OBS, add a Window Capture source and pick the Google Play Games window (or use Game Capture). Add Audio Output Capture for game sound and your mic.
- In OBS Settings > Stream, choose Twitch or YouTube and connect your account (or paste your stream key). Never show your stream key on screen.
- Click Start Streaming. On a PC you can play with WASD, Shift to boost, F or click to fire, and R to time jump.
